Think, Plan, Act on a Strategic Level
We offer a variety of training, webinars, and tools to help business leaders at all levels develop the skills they need to help their organizations grow and achieve their future desired outcomes.
- Strategic Thinking on a Daily Basis
Tools to develop the strategic thinking skill set that so many organizations need. Understanding the difference between strategic and tactical thinking and how and when to apply both, is a challenge for many leaders. With a simple decision-making framework and other tools, you'll learn to develop this strength and apply it to your daily work and life.
- Reinventing Strategic Planning
Many organizations and business schools still start with a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) when they begin their annual strategic planning. The problem with this is that they are only looking at today's issues and solving them today. Planning needs to start with the future the organization is headed towards, and work backwards from there, including a critical evaluation of the FUTURE external environment. Identifying the future trends you're facing, produces opportunities and threats that need to be addressed today. We take our clients through a new way to plan that encompasses a holistic approach, starting with the future desired outcomes and working backwards to identify the strategic actions needed to achieve those future results.
- Strategic Change - Business and Operational Plan Execution
Once the strategic plan is done, it's time to focus on the business unit operational plans. This is the time for budgeting. Unfortunately, many organizations start with budgeting and try to shoehorn their strategies and actions into the budget. This doesn't provide room for creative decision-making and opportunities that may need to be addressed but aren't in the budget. In a holistic approach, the operational plan or plans are created after the strategic plan is done so each department understands what actions they need to take to support the overall strategic plan. This is critical to ensuring that everyone in the organization is focused on the same strategic initiatives.
- Group facilitation
We use a facilitative approach with our clients, founded on the belief that "people support what they help create". Consequently, we consider our clients the subject matter experts in their business. Our job is to extract the information from them in an environment conducive to sharing and open communication to arrive at a consensus for decision-making. We use this process for planning retreats, collaborative meetings, group problem-solving, and whenever a group needs to work together strategically as well as tactically.
- Executive coaching
Some clients prefer one-on-one coaching to help them gain clarity on their personal, work and life issues. We offer these services in English and in Spanish, depending on the clients' needs.
